On Thursday, October 3, Thrive hosted the first of three conversations on accessible worship and accessible churches. This series is led by disability consultant, Lindsay Wieland Capel, worship consultant, Katie Roelofs, and Dwell children's ministry curriculum developer, Jill Benson. The first conversation invited us to think through accessibility in our spaces. We went beyond the sanctuary walls to talk about things like sensory rooms, bathrooms, parking lots and front doors, and much more. Lots of good ideas were shared that might be useful in your context.  The recording is below.

Don't forget the other two conversations which are coming throughout the month of October.

  • October 17, 1:00 p.m EST: Dwell children's ministry curriculum developer, Jill Benson, invites us to think about how to welcome children of all abilities in our children's ministry spaces. To register, click here.
  • October 31, 1:00 p.m. EST:  Worship consultant, Katie Roelofs, invites us to think through how our worship practices can be more accessible and inclusive for all. This includes things like screen projection, worship without words, and how to reimagine passing the peace to be more hospitable. To register, click here.

As always, our Thrive staff is eager to engage you in conversations about these resources and more. Contact [email protected] for more information.
