The Candidacy Committee is sponsoring the "Mentor Resourcing Gathering" on Wednesday, October 31 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the denominational building in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is an event to encourage and orient all those who are working with the CRC candidacy process.
Our special guest for this event will be Dr. Gary Burge, Visiting Professor of New Testament at Calvin Theological Seminary (CTS). He is incredibly gifted, accomplished, and has a variety of experiences in mentoring leaders. I consider it an exceptional gift for him to make himself available to us. Our format will include 90 minutes of conversation with Gary, and about 2 hours reviewing the 24-month candidacy program. Reviewing the candidacy program will ensure you can understand and become comfortable with the program expectations as well as your role at the mentor, local church, and classis level.
Lunch will be provided at 12:30 and we’ll also offer the option of going to dinner together after the event.
You can RSVP or ask questions by sending an email to [email protected] or [email protected]. Please respond no later than Friday, October 19. And, if you are coming from out of town and want help arranging housing, let us know in your email.
Also we want to make the event worth the trip for those traveling a far distance, so we'll also be glad to arrange some time for you to meet with a select CTS faculty member or a denominational leader on Thursday, November 1. Just let us know you’re interested in this option in your RSVP email.
