What is a Regional/Affinity Group Connector?
Regional Connectors are available to support your congregation and ministry leaders by connecting them with denominational resources so you can thrive in the ministry God has given you. Each of our connectors serve a region of the CRCNA. In addition, our Affinity Group Connectors are the point people for our Hispanic, Korean, SEAPI, and youth/young adult members.
What region or affinity group do you serve?
The region I serve is the East Coast US, which has four classes: Atlantic Northeast, Hudson, Hackensack, and Southeast. The East Coast US is ethnically and racially diverse and the Christian Reformed Churches in my region reflect this diversity.
How did you come into your role?
I have been involved with Global Coffee Break for many years and since the Bible study material has been translated into 11 languages and is in 32 countries, I have been able to encourage the use of the materials and Bible study method in the churches that reflect those languages and countries of origin In my role as a Local Mission Leader, I have been able to help churches, including ethnic churches connect with denominational resources with which they are not always familiar.
In what area of ministry are you most passionate about encouraging and equipping congregations?
I am passionate about helping churches with their outreach and Bible study ministries. Global
Coffee Break is a wonderful resource for evangelism and discipleship for men and women. It has been very successful with young adults outside of North America, and I would like to see more young adults in the US and Canada use the materials. I think that Global Coffee Break may be a good fit with something like Generation Spark which seeks to connect the generations through mentoring.
