What does it mean to be Reformed? At one time, the answer might have seemed obvious—so obvious that no one even bothered to ask the question. But that’s no longer the case. Today even longtime members of the Christian Reformed Church tell us that they struggle to express what “being Reformed” means to them.
We hope this 42-page, Spanish booklet helps to answer that question, not just from a historical perspective but also in terms of what it means to be a Reformed Christian in the world today. What’s different about being Reformed? About being Christian Reformed? Does it really matter?
The short answer, is “Yes, it really does.” Not because it makes us better than anyone else, but because Reformed theology provides clear, compelling answers to the big questions that confront us—such as Who am I? Why am I here? What does God want from me? Does he really love me? Does he care about my job, or how I live my daily life? Being Reformed also involves recognizing that we’re on a journey—as individual Christians and as a church.
This booklet would be ideal for an adult Bible study, catechism class, or for those wanting to learn more about the CRC and its place in today's world.
Copies of this booklet can be ordered free of charge from Faith Alive. A printable PDF is also available.
(Note that this booklet is also available in Korean, Chinese, and English)
