Reviewing the 2026 CRCNA USA Giving and Worship Attendance Report: Giving

The Advancement Department of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) recently conducted a brief, five-question survey of CRC Churches in the USA. Focusing on a comparison of giving and worship attendance between 2024 and 2025, this survey was designed to capture a snapshot of what churches are experiencing. A total of 158 US CRC churches completed the survey.  The data collected from this survey were compared to the results of an identical survey conducted by Horizons Stewardship.  You can find and review our report “Findings on CRC Giving and Worship Attendance” HERE.  

Here are some interesting observations I found while reviewing the data. Note that this is an informational and non-scientific survey and not representative of all CRCNA Churches and contexts. 

• The same percentage of CRC churches that saw an increase in attendance also saw an increase in giving. 

This is a remarkable statistic! While there's no way to confirm direct correlation, this shows that increase in giving could align with increased attendance. This means those churches that are growing are teaching generosity.

•  The percentage of CRC churches reporting a decrease in giving outpaces the percentage of CRC churches reporting a decrease in attendance. 

This is a hard one- This could mean that people stop giving before they leave. Or this could indicate that member giving has eroded over time. 

 • 34.4% of CRC churches reported that giving was about the same between 2024 and 2025. 

• 43.4% of CRC churches in the U.S. saw an increase in giving over the same period. 

The stability/increase in giving in nearly 78% of churches is encouraging. This is important as the CRCNA looks forward to the future. These churches are the ones who will enable church planting and church renewal across the CRCNA. Less than a quarter of participant CRC Churches note a decline in giving.
