Our stories are a fascinating reflection of a life lived or currently living. Powerful snapshots show up alongside our narratives which summarize or quantify the events of our moments.

I invite you to consider the following:

  • Our children sit with us, longing for a story that tickles their imagination
  • Our youth look at them for moments that create or point to “Meaning”
  • Our elderly fondly share their stories as a means to define meaning or belonging. A future or present HOPE.

Healthy youth ministries, I believe, look for ways to link the Gospel to the present so that it may come alive for the hearer. We as churches and congregants need to ask ourselves;

  • What is your faith story?
  • How are you sharing your story with your youth groups?
  • How are you creating space for the seasons saints to share their stories with our hungry youth?

This month’s Youth Ministry newsletter looks at the power of story and where it might be found in a century of ministry that has left an impact on thousands of teens connected to the CRCNA. Maybe you were even of them.

I invite everyone who reads this to share your Youth Unlimited/Young Calvinist Federation highlight here. What is your YU story?
