For those who live in the U.S., election day is quickly approaching. Attached are worship services from two churches that will focus on the election with prayers, scriptures, and songs.

The Election Day Communion Service from the Washington, DC Christian Reformed Church was planned by Katie Roelofs in 2012. Katie, the Minister of Music and Worship, is working on a similar service for Nov. 6 of this year. She says the opening litany was taken from the Election Day Communion website. The parting blessing is a Franciscan prayer. She is happy to share it.

The Election Day Evening Worship service has been planned by Music and Worship Director, Kevin Soodsma of the Beckwith Hills CRC. Kevin used some of Katie's liturgy and ideas to plan his service that will be held on Nov. 6, 2016, in the evening.

Note that both services include a hymn, "In Times of Great Decision," by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette. These original words are sung to a familiar hymn tune (The Church's One Foundation) and can be found here
