I grew up in New Mexico but migrated to West Michigan after high school to attend Calvin College - from the mesas to the mitten; quite a change! I met my wife at a Grand Rapids church where we both were involved in youth ministry and have lived in the area ever since. I currently reside in Zeeland, MI, with my wife and two kids.

I loved these wafer cookies growing up (1980's)! And there were different flavors too! But there was always the ever-present Windmill cookie calling my name... Today, I'm glad for the donut holes and little Cinn-a-buns, but seeing a plate of these wafers really takes me back!

I didn't sign up for the challenge, but really appreciate the book recommendation of "The Alchemist". I was intrigued and just finished reading it last night. A really inspiring book about pursing your individual dreams! I'll have to check out some of the other suggestions. Thanks Staci!

Wow! You brought back some of my late 90-early 2000 harder music memories! Demon Hunter, Project 86, Stavesacre, Skillet, POD. Thanks Chuck!

Ah, yes of course! Another great album! "Birdhouse in your Soul", "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)", "Particle Man"... did you ever watch Tiny Toon Adventures?

Yeah. TMBG had two cartoon music videos featured on the Warner Bros/Stephen Spielberg animated show (Istanbul and Particle Man). Link to YouTube vid
Posted in: Traditions for After Dinner Scripture Reading and Prayer?
Thank you for your post, Benjamin.
Growing up, my family's after-dinner devotions were almost always from the 'Today' (thank you ReFrame!). And now that MY kids are getting older (8 & 11 yrs/old) I am reviving that tradition. When the kids were younger, we would read from a children's story Bible or use 'God's Big Story Cards'
Posted in: What Books Are You Reading This Summer?
I've had it on my shelf for a long time, but have always planned to read Timothy Keller's "The Reason for God" (2008). Maybe this is finally the summer for it? Also Susan Beaumont's "How to Lead When You Don't Know Where You're Going" (2019).
