Gentlemen, thank you for your observations.

My intent was to find ways to bring unknowing folks into God's house, without corrupting the church by appeasing worldly demands.  Perhaps I could have worded that sentance better, it seems to be an unintended distraction.  My apologies for that.

DAVID OGDEN

Speaking as a lay person from outside the CRC I can only speak to what I've experienced, which has been a lot in the "support" area, but not very much on the "accountability" side.

While serving on a church board, an accountability issue arose that had to be dealt with and it was done in a horribly, bad way.  Several accusitory meetings, with little support for the accused, beligerant church officials and many bad feelings.  It was finally resolved by several people being forced out of the church.

The article above describes support and accountability the way it should be, the way our Bible shows us; unfortunately, it's also a way that I've never seen done in the real world.

Concerning the article; please keep doing what you're doing and show this to other denominations.  Perhaps develope an educational curriculm for teaching purposes.  Support is usually good in congregations, but accountability is not generally done well.
