What's your role at the CRCNA? How did you come to your position? My name is Lauren Leitzelar, and I serve as the Human Resources Generalist for the CRCNA-US HR department. I began my career as the US HR Assistant in August 2021, during my senior year at Davenport University. I transitioned into my current role in January 2024.

What does a typical day look like for you? My daily tasks and schedule as an HR Generalist vary, which is one of the joys of this role. I have a diverse range of responsibilities, including recruitment and onboarding, managing our HR Information System, revising job descriptions, and advertising new positions. I also collaborate on payroll, conduct unconscious bias training, and handle employment verification. Additionally, I assist employees by addressing any questions or concerns they may have.

What is one thing you've learned while working at the CRCNA? My Human Resources knowledge has grown so much while working for the CRCNA. Working here has given me hands-on experience and well-rounded knowledge of HR practices. For example, I have had the opportunity to work with employees and candidates located all over the world. With that, I have learned about the many laws, practices, and compliance that take place in HR.

What are you most passionate about in terms of serving and equipping congregations? We are currently exploring ways to better recognize and appreciate our staff for their loyalty and hard work. When employees feel valued, it creates a safe and motivating environment, encouraging them to become even better in their roles. This, in turn, enables them to serve and support our congregations with greater passion and efficiency.

What is your favorite thing about your job? Any fun or engaging memories or experiences? What I enjoy most about my position is positively impacting people's lives by connecting them with fulfilling job opportunities. I find great satisfaction in onboarding candidates into roles that align with their passions and skills. It is rewarding to make a real difference in someone's professional journey, essentially acting as a bridge between talented candidates and an organization where they can thrive.
