Synod has designated the second Wednesday in March (March 12, 2025) as the Annual Day of Prayer. On this date each year, all CRC congregations are requested to take time to ask for God’s blessing upon the world, our nations and communities, crops and industry, and the church worldwide. Will you join us?

For those in the United States, it may be important to note that there is also a National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 1, 2025. U.S. Councils, if you feel that participating in an Annual Day of Prayer can be done more meaningfully in conjunction with this National Day of Prayer (U.S.), please do so. You have the right to change the date of a special service accordingly (Acts of Synod 1996, p. 578).

The following Prayer Guide was put together to assist all CRC congregations in holding a meaningful day of prayer on either date. It is based upon Philippians 4:4-7.

This prayer guide is in the rhythm of the Lord’s Prayer:
    • Reverence - that God would be praised
    • Response - that God’s will is done
    • Requests - for both resources and relationships
    • Readiness - to be holy for the work God calls us to do

Philippians 4:4-7

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Reverence

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

We rejoice in you because you are…
We rejoice in you always, even when…
We rejoice in you because we’ve seen you at work in…

(Note: The Annual Ministry Report 2025 is full of opportunities for Thanksgiving and Praise. Please take a look and join others across the denomination in giving thanks for the ways God is working in and through us around the world)

Response

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything…

You are God, yet I am anxious about…
God, the church is yours, so I trust you for…

Requests

Father in Heaven, we pray these things as a diverse family of congregations, assemblies, and ministries across North America. As your children, united in this denomination, we thank you for hearing our prayer and sustaining us in our efforts. Amen.
