Even though more than half of us are visual learners, much of our worship is still word-based. What will it take for you and your fellow visual artists to change that? Money? Time? Someone's approval? A little encouragement? This webinar will help you with at least one of these! We'll show you how to use everyday materials to transform your worship places. Besides sharing some specific ideas, we'll talk about best practices to make sure the all-important message gets through and explore ideas on how to involve others in the work. Dean's book Come and See: 24 Creative Ideas for Worship Visuals is available from Faith Alive Christian Resources.
Our presenter: An illustrator and graphic designer by training, Dean Heetderks is director of CRC Proservices, the creative, purchasing, and production service group of the Christian Reformed Church and art director of Reformed Worship and The Banner. Recently, he has gathered up a couple dozen of his best ideas and wrote Come and See: 24 Creative Ideas for Worship Visuals (Faith Alive, 2012). He's also written numerous articles on the importance of the visual arts in worship.
