I work for the CRC's Communication office as the Online Community and Content Manager. The majority of my role will be right here on The Network with some work with The Banner and social media in general. So I guess my role is to highlight CRCNA content FTW (Facebook, Twitter and Web). I grew up in Chicago, IL (Go Bears) and but now live in West Michigan. My wife Kelley and I have two children: Javen (6) and Kendall (3).

Nice blog post, I definitely agree with your suggestion about a nap would do wonders when you’re frustrated. In regards to the reactions, you got Sunday night when you wore a bow tie:
I think you should do a social experiment to judge the reactions between regular tie, bow tie, or dare I say no tie. It could turn into another blog.

First, thanks for the suggestion.
Second, can you elaborate on what you had in mind. The Network has many different ways people connect: via the guided networks (Pastors, Elders, Deacons) and via discussion networks/forums (Faith Formation, Stewardship, Church Order). Was one of these ways what you had in mind or something else? Are there any topics you wanted to address but you felt did not fit in the Pastors forum? Would this need to be private to ensure confidentiality?

When you posted your initial question we were a bit stumped as to where it would fit. Our suggestion of placement in the Worship forum was a “closest fit” suggestion considering what was currently available, not a “perfect fit” suggestion. It is an ongoing effort to find the right categories that meet the ministry needs of those who use The Network.
Thank you for your suggestion and topic ideas regarding a “Welcoming Ministries” category. We will discuss this with our team. In the meantime, I would still encourage you to post any specific questions you have as a topic in the Worship forum or another category you feel may fit (perhaps ministry coordinators?). That way the conversation gets started and the community can respond.
